Educational School Field Trips

If you are looking for a super fun field trip that is educational to boot, look no further than CornDodgers Farm!  We are now booking field trips for our Fall 2016 season.  Field trips are booked on a first come, first served basis, so don’t miss your chance, call or email us today!  Trips start October 3 and end November 18.  Reservations are required.

Our field trips are set up in a rotation format.  Students are usually kept with their class except during free play time.  Slide, maze, and animal barn are closed during free play.  Field trip stations include:

  • Corn maze and slide (1 trip down slide per student, repeat if time allows)
  • Hayride
  • Corn Cannon (1 shot per student and teacher, additional shots 3 for $1 if time permits)
  • Sunflower planting in Crop College
  • Corn Box, CornDodger Ball, and play area
  • Jumping Pillow and Cow Train Ride (1 trip per student)
  • Animal Barn and Tire Pyramid
  • Duck Races, Tug of War, Barnyard Ball
  • Free play if time permits

Crop College is our learning barn.  Student will be treated to displays on corn, cotton, pumpkins, sunflowers, satsumas, and farm animals as well as get a chance to “milk” our wooden cows.  Educational videos are sometimes shown.

 

The Details

Upon arriving at the farm, students will be given an overview of the rules and the general schedule of the day.  Teachers will be given a copy of the rotation sequence and advised where to begin.  We reserve the right to remove any child (or adult) from the activities if rules are not obeyed.  We have developed this rotation schedule over several years and have found it the best way to ensure every child gets to participate in every activity without overwhelming chaos.  Please stay in your rotation unless otherwise instructed by Eric or Amanda.  Students will also be given a bottle of water upon completing the maze.  These are handed out by class only. Climate controlled restrooms are located behind the lunch area, next to Barnyard Ball.  They are handicap accessible.

Field trips typically start at 9 am and end at 1 pm.  
We can accommodate almost any schedule, so please do not hesitate to ask.  

Lunch or Snacks
Classes are welcome to bring sack lunches or pre-order lunches at the farm.  To order lunches at the farm, the request must be made at least 3 days prior to arrival.  Chaperones may order lunch as well.  These orders must be placed upon arrival as we will only prepare the number ordered.  Schedule may be modified if you need to leave before lunch. CornDodgers Concessions is open during all field trips and students will be given a chance to visit the concession stand between the corn cannon and sunflower planting.  Most items cost $0.50 to $2.  We have added cafeteria style seating this year to help expedite lunches and offer more seating to students.

Field Trip Fees
Cost for field trips is $8 per student.  Teachers and bus drivers are admitted free.  Chaperones are also an additional cost per person.  Chaperones may pay with the school or pay upon arriving to the farm.
